Let us recap the last three days:
1. We acknowledged and agreed, with all our heart, the reality of what we have done.
2. We identified all the things that needed to be gotten rid of within us, confessed them, and made a decision with all our mind
3. We asked for God’s grace to forgive our sins, with all our soul, which gives our soul eternal life.
Each day we examine ourselves, and with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind, we come before God. Let us move forward today with a clear understanding that whatever we have confessed and asked forgiveness for, we believe that God has forgiven and forgotten. Period. That is it.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9
God says He is faithful to forgive; it is up to us to believe this without doubt.
There is no rush. Even today, we can take some time to list out the things we need to get rid of, and then move forward when we feel peace.
We all know that God commanded Noah to take pairs of every animal and bird into the ark. God also instructed him to take seven of every clean animal. What was the purpose of this?
Before the flood destroyed the earth, God had given vegetation as food—yes, truly. When Noah was saved, he offered burnt offerings using the clean birds and animals. This act expressed thanksgiving for deliverance and the complete consecration to God.
The Aramaic Bible translation says:
“I beg you therefore, my brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God, which is your logical service.” — Romans 12:1
Let us take some time, and with a peaceful heart, give thanks with a grateful spirit for the wonder of forgiveness and for how far God has brought us into His light.
